BIOGRAPHY

 

Dilys Bryon trained in Painting (with Ceramics as a subsidiary subject) at Wimbledon School of Art, London, obtaining the National Diploma in Design (Painting). She gained the Art Teachers Diploma at London University. She has studied Etching and Mezzotint with Mark Balakjian at Morley College and the "Hayte" method of Printmaking at Atelier Contrepoint (formerly Atelier 17) Paris under Hector Saunier.

Having taught Art as Head of Department in Public and State Schools for some years, she worked in Adult Education, part-time and, later, in Further Education Colleges. Her subjects include Painting, Drawing, Ceramics and Print-making at all levels. Currently she holds Printmaking Workshops in her studio in Surrey and in a farmhouse in France.

Dilys Bryon was Vice Chairman and then Chairman of the Printmakers Council of Great Britain, after some years working on the committee. She has published articles in the association's publication "Impress" and also in "Printmaking Today", the quarterly magazine. She has curated a number of exhibitions for the P.M.C. including their first exhibition in Paris, (Musee Adzak, 1994). She is also a member of the National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers.
