"An American Naval Brig Lying at Anchor while Her Sails Are Drying" by the Danish painter C. W. Eckersberg (1783-1853) is a fine example of his maritime painting. Eckersberg is considered the "Father of Danish Painting" and a key figure in the Danish Golden Age.
