"On the beach" (1864-1871) by the Greek painter Périclès Pantazis (1849-1884) is a beautiful and serene work. Pantazis was one of the first Greek artists to be influenced by Impressionism and was a founding member of the Brussels-based group "Les XX". This painting, with its soft, diffused light and a sense of quiet contemplation, is a testament to his mastery of color and brushwork.
