"Area Broken by Perpendiculars" (ca. 1934) by the American composer and artist Joseph Schillinger (1895-1943) is a unique work that reflects his fusion of music and visual art. Schillinger developed a mathematical system for creating art, and this painting is a visual representation of that theory. It uses precise, geometric forms to create a sense of dynamic harmony and order.
