"Triumph of the Marine Venus" (about 1713) by the Italian painter Sebastiano Ricci (1659-1734) is a beautiful example of Venetian Baroque painting. Ricci was a highly influential artist known for his light and elegant style, which served as a bridge between the Baroque and Rococo periods. This painting, with its lively composition and luminous colors, celebrates a mythological subject with a sense of grace and grandeur.
