"Girl Arranging Her Hair" (1918-1919) by the American artist Abbott Handerson Thayer (1849-1921) is an elegant and ethereal portrait. Thayer was known for his idealized depictions of women, which he often infused with a sense of grace and spiritual purity. This painting, with its soft light and delicate rendering, is a beautiful example of his work in the late 19th-century American tradition.
