EIT Community New European Bauhaus

01 · What the call wants
Connect NEB supports community-rooted organisations testing ideas, participatory methods, living labs and new forms of local governance inspired by NEB values.
Co-create NEB supports partnerships between communities, municipalities and other local actors delivering improvements in neighbourhoods and public spaces.
Projects should be locally embedded, participatory, sustainable, inclusive and beautiful, with potential for learning and longer-term impact.
02 · What EURAN proposes
EURAN proposes to activate established art communities as local connectors between residents, artists, galleries, cultural venues and neighbourhood environments. The model starts with existing cultural communities rather than building a network from zero: local art clubs can help identify people interested in art, local creative resources and places where participation can become visible. Depending on the selected route, this can form a community-led Connect NEB prototype or become part of a Co-create NEB partnership with a municipality and other local actors.
03 · Why EURAN
EURAN has longstanding experience working with organised art communities and understands their role as connectors between people, artists, exhibitions and cultural activity.
A large existing body of artistic and design material can support local activation, interpretation and participatory activities.
EURAN's cultural frameworks can help structure the relationship between cultural participation, place and local value.
EURAN can connect local experiments into a wider European learning and dissemination framework.
04 · Who EURAN is seeking
For Connect NEB: an established community-rooted organisation capable of leading a local participatory prototype.
For Co-create NEB: a municipality, region or affiliated eligible entity must be part of the consortium.
Partners able to provide artistic practice, exhibitions, spaces, knowledge and community engagement.
Designers, facilitators or researchers able to document, test and evaluate the local model.
05 · Why this is interesting
For a community organisation, the proposition offers a way to turn an existing cultural community into a structured NEB participation project. For a municipality, it offers access to an already organised cultural layer that can help connect neighbourhood transformation with residents, artists and local cultural life. The model can be small enough to prototype and strong enough to become replicable.
06 · Participation
Expression of interest does not constitute partnership. No organisation is presented as a partner until eligibility, role and participation have been discussed and agreed.
